Trifecta, then some

Is it already Saturday, again? Last weekend went by in such a blur, I hardly remember it now. It did start with a few fabulous new books, three to be precise, that I am still savoring and relishing over. That's when you know you have winners on your hands.

Here's what I'm loving, left over from weekend last:

- Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: pure bread baking bliss.
- Better Basics for the Home: Simple Solutions for Less Toxic Living: a recipe book of folk formulas for cleaning & maintaining household, skin, and garden.
- The Birth House: lovely story of a young midwife apprentice in Nova Scotia at the turn of the 20th Century. Can't put it down.
- Star Trek. I've been converted, I am now a proud trekkie.
- These peanut butter cookies - heavenly deliciousness (John, how do almond butter cookies sound?), By the way, I love Smitten Kitchen and everything she does there.
- Homemade blueberry "syrup" - handful of frozen blueberries, H20, spoonful (or two) of sugar, zest & juice from 1/2 a lemon, splash of vanilla, several shakes from the corn starch box, all boiled together & then pureed - good on pancakes and vanilla frozen yogurt alike
- Weather forecast: warm & sunny, baby! The birds are chirping and the ocean is calling me.

Here I come, lovely Late Spring.
