Home cookin'

The oven has been on for hours. It has been intimate with a double batch of chocolate chip cookies (112 cookies!) and is now getting acquainted with mustard-baked chicken with a pretzel crust and mustard roasted new potatoes. Because a meal can never have enough mustard or cookies, right? Riiiiight?

One day in, Memorial Day weekend is looking mighty fine. Plus the sun decided to come out and say hello at the last minute. And we have a top-to-bottom clean apartment. And we're tackling the basement tomorrow with gale force. I love this stuff.

PS - If you haven't heard, the mister got a job! Part of the cookies we made today will have a brief stint in the freezer before heading on to his place of business Tuesday to be presented to his new cohorts. Isn't that nice?

Kelly - we would love that! You are always welcome. We need to squeeze in visit at some point soon to see Mr. Matthew. Maybe over Thanksgiving...

Happy to help Sharon! Not sure why my phone wasn't working but you have the right number. We'll be sure to report back as things start landing in our possession.

If you make it to this side of the planet for Thanksgiving you are in for a treat. I DO NOT cook this holiday meal anymore. For the past two years we have treated ourselves to an amazing stay at Point Lookout in Northport near Camden, and both the amazing food and fabulous Log cabins are worth every penny. Mom and John join us and it is not only a beautiful way to celebrate the holiday, but also a well deserved rest. It would be wonderful to have you be there with us this year! I'll keep my fingers crossed :)
