Sunset's online magazine has a great collection of home-made foodie gift ideas. The salted chocolate-pecan toffee and peppermint-stick cocoa sound pretty good to me.
We also have a friend who's been known to make beautiful jars of flavored olive oil and give those away. I need to get in on that this year...
