Home

Folks, I am home, well rested and more in love with the coast than ever. It was cool & breezy, sunny, and super lounge-r-iffic. I slept in late, ate late, read lots, and went to bed late. There was also some sewing, some strolling, and some shopping. Plus Ryan swears he saw a group of whales breach once.

Here are the goodies I bring back with me:

Shore stones. Hand selected. One of a kind. Beauties, all of them.

Every girl needs a good party dress. As soon as I saw this red & white polka dot number I new it would be perfect for a late summer outdoor wedding obligation (weddings are the best type of obligation, no?). I’m hoping it works perfectly with my floppy straw hat, strappy espadrilles, and mom’s pearls.

Has anyone ever had tres leches cake? I have now after a delicious dinner at the Waterfront Depot Restaurant (no website, Florence, OR), and find that it really is the best cake ever. It’s a buttery concoction, derived in Latin America, soaked in a sweet cream sauce and then drizzled with dulce de leche. It’s like cold creamy cake pudding. I found a few recipes for it on the www:

Happy Monday everyone. It is good to be back.
