A Proper Introduction

Greetings! I am Rebecca: wife, designer, and serious home body.

My idea of a perfect day is one where I wake up to a clean house (stocked with plenty of tasty treats and clean laundry), sew a little, cook a little, read here & there, take a nap, meet a friend for dessert, and then watch an episode or two of the Wire – my all-time favorite TV show. It has inspired me to name my next cat Omar. Who’s with me on that?

In the real world, I work at an architecture firm downtown. I am from Las Vegas (please don’t ask what it’s like growing up there – it’s hot, OK?), country-jumped to Boston for college, and now live in Portland, Oregon. I married a New Yorker who is passionate about paleontology like nobody’s business. Really. We have a cat, Misha, whom we call Meech. She is grumpy, assertive, and sometimes aggressive. We love her.

I am passionate about good food, trips and travel of almost any kind, creating with my hands, and Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series. I hope to use this place, my blog, as a forum for the lovelies I whip up on the sewing machine and in the kitchen, and as a general resting spot for all the adventures we seem to find ourselves in.
