Home Sweet Home

Really, there's nothing like returning to the home you love after being away a spell.

We are back after an intense roadtrip with dad. The sites were awe-inspiring, indeed, and have left us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. But more on that soon, once I've had a chance to decompress and take a deep breath.

In the mean time, I'll leave you with an image (above) of what I woke up to last night. Long story short, instead of having dinner with mom and then heading back over to dad's before flying out this morning (as originally planned), we decided to have a night out on the town to celebrate our anniversary. We went to the VooDoo Steak & Lounge for dinner and stayed at the Rio.

Over-stimulated from the trip, missing my parents, and feeling very silly for staying at a hotel in my home town, I went to bed early. At about 9:45 pm I woke up to the sound of room service delivering this beauty of an ice cream sundae to Ryan, who was not struggling in the least over living it up on the Strip for a night.

Fortunately, despite my fatigue and distraction at how much this bowl of ice cream cost, I was able to enjoy a bite or two. Yum.
