Time to spare

What would you do if you found out you had one more day each week to do whatever you wanted? How would you spend that extra day?

Here's what I might do:

01 sew, quilt, craft, etc.
02 work out, go for a swim, take a mid-day yoga class
03 meal plan for the week healthy and budget-friendly menus (hokey? old fashioned?)
04 clean, do laundry, etc. (I know, I know)
05 study for and take LEED exam
06 volunteer for IDP hours
07 refine resume & portfolio (maybe this one should move up to the top of the list...)

You can tell I've thought about this. Recently I, along with most of my cohorts, was asked to [temporarily] reduce my work schedule to 80%, or four days per week, in light of the economy.

As you may know, I've been secretly wishing for a bonus day each week to indulge in the things I most enjoy. Now that its here, I can't help but also think of the more practical, less glamorous side, primarily that I'll be earning 80% of my regular pay.

Be careful what you wish for, right? As I continue to warm up to this idea of a reduced schedule, I hope I am able to embrace the extra time. Wednesday will be my first day off. I’ll report back with how the time off measures up to my list above.
