Meet my latest creations

So, as you may know, I've been making my own soap for the last year or two. The project, prompted by a desire to use more non-toxic, biodegradable, good-for-the-planet-good-for-you toiletries and cleaning products, started out strong if you'll remember.

But this time, this time something went awry. You see, I was inspired to add dried herbs and citrus zest for their texture and exfoliation properties. Doesn't that sound nice?

And this is what I end up with:
The citrus & clove soap on the left looks infected with a severe case of the chicken pox to boot, while the eucalyptus & rosemary scented concoction on the right looks as if a mean case of black mold has taken over (which, I assure you, it has not). Ryan was kinder and said that they look like flan (of Spanish dessert fame) and a chicken & spinach dish respectively.

Either way, its going to be a hard sell to use these beauty bars. I may have to chalk this one up to an experiment gone bad and start over. But, hey, if you happen to know of anybody looking for a steal of a deal on non-toxic, biodegradable, good-for-the-planet-good-for-you products, send them my way. I just might have exactly what they're looking for.
